In a day and age where daily jackpots are taking the central stage, NetEnt has decided to onboard the trend with a bespoke concept that they call Starburst PowerPots. Here’s everything we know about this potentially ground-breaking feature.
Unlike must-drop jackpots, which must trigger within a certain time period or before the amount reaches a certain level, in NetEnt’s innovation players will play together to fill up the PowerPots progress bar to trigger the community pot which is divided among any number of players. And that’s even if they happen to be offline at that time!
Although the centrepiece of the idea is their flagship Starburst game, the Community Jackpot system will be available across an entire family of NetEnt’s best performing games. The company has hinted that they will include a range of prizes and an additional Major progressive jackpot which is likely to be in the 6- or even 7-digit range.
Bryan Upton, NetEnt Director of Games, explained: “Starburst PowerPots was developed in line with our customers’ and players’ expectations, taking cue on everything from art assets to mechanics. We are using leading edge games design approaches to make this jackpot family with our most powerful games simple to understand yet compelling. Using the Starburst brand will create massive acquisition while these jackpot mechanics will drive huge engagement for players.”
“This is community gaming without the overengineering and overthought on what slot players really want. This product can fit into any operator’s portfolio and deliver any experience, from large life changing prizes to super-fast hitting jackpots,” added Upton.
The feature with Starburst tokens will be rolled out across multiple casino brands. Operators will have the option for multiple RTP configurations, contributions and prize setups, so the jackpots will be different depending on where you play. That said, however, we are yet to see the feature in action and how good of a complement it’ll turn out to be to the recently acquired and very popular Red Tiger’s Daily Jackpots. Given how popular Starburst and NetEnt slots are in general, this may be yet another favourite feature for online casino players around the world.
The launch of Starburst PowerPots is yet to be confirmed but we expect it to be available at many of our featured NetEnt casinos in the first half of the year.
