Let’s end the month of September by taking a closer look at yet another new live casino game that would resonate with players who are more risk-tolerant. Evolution has upped the ante with its latest offering: Xxxtreme Lightning Baccarat. With its increased volatility and win potential, players are in for a roller-coaster ride of emotions with every bet. Our brief overview will show you what to expect when it comes out on the 4th of October.
What Makes Xxxtreme Lightning Baccarat Stand Out?
The main difference between the 2020-released Lightning Baccarat and the Xxxtreme version is the volatility and the potential for higher multipliers and wins. Additionally, the 2023 release offers the chance to receive more Lightning Cards in each game round. Other than that, it’s played with standard baccarat rules, with eight decks of 52 playing cards in a dealing shoe and 15 seconds of betting time. Likewise, while traditional baccarat offers payouts like 1:1 for Player and Banker bets and 8:1 for Tie bets, all Lightning series of the game elevate this with special Lightning Multipliers that get randomly assigned to cards before each round.
Lightning Baccarat vs. Xxxtreme Lightning Baccarat
- Lightning Cards and multipliers – Lightning Baccarat can generate 1 to 5 random Lightning Cards in the Lightning Round (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 8x). The new Xxxtreme version can now draw 4 to 8, each worth 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 8x or 10x. That means, if you win on a hand that includes one or more matching Lightning Cards, the winnings are multiplied accordingly.
- Bigger multipliers – The total winnings can now be multiplied by up to 1,000x if there are three matching Lightning Cards and if you win with a Tie bet that has six matching Lightning Cards, the game can potentially magnify wins by up to 2,850,000x! However, wins are still capped at €500,000.
- Fee – there’s a forced bet of 20% in Lightning Baccarat. In the Xxxtreme version, a 50% fee is added to each player’s total bet.
- RTP – Lightning Baccarat has the maximum RTP of 98.76%, whereas the more extreme version has an RTP of 98.68%. For reference, in standard baccarat, the RTP is 98.94%.
Payouts in New Xxxtreme Lightning Baccarat
Here’s a quick look at the possible payouts. Mind you, each bet is subject to the 50% fee.
- Player – 1:1 up to 1,000:1
- Banker – 1:1 (minus a 3% commission, lower than other baccarat games) up to 1,000:1
- Tie – 2.85:1 (versus 5:1 in Lightning Baccarat) up to €500,000
- Pairs – 8:1 (versus 9:1 in Lightning Baccarat) up to 800:1.
Final Thoughts
If last year’s Xxxtreme Lightning Roulette suggests, the series has proven to be relatively popular. On the other hand, the 50% fee is by far the biggest from any Evolution live table game, which might dissuade some. Evolution came prepared, however, because if you like the concept but not the volatility then check out the studio’s fresh Prosperity Tree Baccarat, which guarantees eight multiplier cards in every game round but is much friendlier on the bankroll.
