What’s a Play’n GO slot experience without one of their music slots?! The beloved game developer is on track to release yet another heavy metal band slot, this time from Los Angeles. Featuring Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, Vince Neil and the epic Mötley Crüe in a wild slot that is planned to come out on the 22nd of December. Here’s our first impression and a quick overview.

Play’n GO’s Mötley Crüe is a 5-reel slot that follows the studio’s recent Dio – Killing the Dragon as well as a series of other legendary band slots like NSYNC Pop, Lordi Reel Monsters and Def Leppard Hysteria, all of which also came out this year and got picked up by our Play'n GO releases radar. Before we get to the game’s bonus features, which there are a few, it’s good to know that fans and players alike can also control the playlist. It includes hit songs like Girls, Girls, Girls and Wild Side from the 1987 singles and album, and Live Wire from their 1981 debut single.

In addition to the low-paying A, K, Q and J symbols, you’ll also come across the four band members who appear as 2-high stacked symbols. Together with the Wild card, they can pay up to 25x bet per line. The maximum payout is limited to 5,000x bet, which is aided by several features, including one of the three random base game bonuses:

  • Wild Side – unlocks the Wild Side barrier to the right of the reels and moves it to the right 1-4 times, until a win is achieved. Each nudge will cover the entire reel with four Wild symbols.
  • Live Wire – adds up to 5 Wilds, one per reel.
  • Girls, Girls, Girls – adds x1, x2 and x5 multiplier symbols to reels 2, 3 and 4. Pays out the total multiplier when the multiplier symbols cover at least 3 reels.

The game is designed to trigger one of the above features relatively frequently, so the main game can be quite fun and engaging. However, what you really want is to land a Scatter symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5, for which you’ll get a Free Spins bonus. That happens every couple of hundred spins or so.

The number of freespins that you get will depend on the pre-bonus Pentagram round which will unveil up to 10 spins. That doesn’t sound like much, but during the bonus all the side features are also active and are prone to engage randomly on every spin. Better yet, the beefed-up Wild Side feature will also be available and will unlock a x2, x3, x5 or x10 multiplier based on the barrier’s position/the number of nudges. Unfortunately, there is no way to re-trigger the bonus and no way to buy it.

We are big fans of Play’n GO’s band slots and think this one is a must-try in the fans’ playlist. There are meaningful base game wins, frequent features that have the potential to pay out very nice wins, and an exciting bonus that could entertain players for hours. But don’t take our word for it – consider giving it a shot when browsing new releases this Christmas.
