NetEnt Secures Presence in North America and Scandinavia

According to the interim report for the year that was released by NetEnt yesterday, expansion in locally regulated markets continues to be an important part of the company’s business and sustainability strategy. According to the plan, the Swedish digital entertainment company has just signed with a major operator in North America, secured its presence in the re-regulation of Sweden’s gambling market for 2019 with Svenska Spel, and signed a deal with Finland’s state-owned gaming operator Veikkaus.

Today, on 25 October, a US subsidiary of NetEnt AB, NetEnt Americas LLC, signed its first operator in the new regulated online casino market in Pennsylvania (USA), for which it applied for a gaming license earlier last month. The operator is Penn Online Entertainment, LLC, a subsidiary of Penn National Gaming’s Penn Interactive Ventures, and NetEnt plans to launch with a mix of games for HollywoodCasino.com as soon as possible.

Earlier this week, the largest sponsor of sports in Sweden, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino AB (subsidiary of AB Svenska Spel), cleared another milestone for the games developer following a deal with another Swedish operator ATG at the beginning of this month. Swedes can look forward to a wide selection of NetEnt’s award-winning online casino games as the re-regulated gambling market in the jurisdiction opens on January 1, 2019.

Finland is also known to have a state-owned gambling monopoly called Veikkaus, which supplies Finland with both offline and online gaming with a turnover equal to EUR 3,231 million in 2017 alone!
