Games Global, a privately backed company that acquired Microgaming’s games portfolio in 2022, will soon launch yet another potentially blockbuster progressive jackpot title in the iconic slots series: Book of Mega Moolah! Scheduled to be released across “Microgaming” casinos no later than 27 September 2023, it aims to appeal to the “book of” fans and jackpot enthusiasts alike. Here’s how the game will play and some up-to-date facts on the Mega Moolah jackpot that currently stands at more than €5 million and based on estimates, should be triggered within a month’s time.
The Book of Mega Moolah is a Games Global exclusive and will not be published under one of their many partner studios. As with all of the games in this series, it’s built around simplicity, making it appealing to a range of players who seek to win a share in one of the most popular community prize pools across online casinos worldwide.
Book of Mega Moolah has basic gameplay rules that span 10 pay-lines and 5 reels. There are 4 high-paying symbols and 5 low-paying ones familiar to anyone who has played the original game. There’s one special symbol, called Wild Scatter. It has a small payout and for 3 or more will trigger 10 Free Spins with an Expanding Symbol central to all book-themed slots. Chosen randomly at the beginning of the bonus, it will always expand if it forms part of a win after any initial wins have been paid out. These special symbol combinations don’t have to be adjacent or start on reel 1, like the standard symbols. Note that the 4 high-paying symbols only need two expanded reels to pay out a prize.
In addition to the maximum win potential of 5,500x, Book of Mega Moolah also has the Jackpot Bonus. It’s triggered randomly, by collecting progressive trigger coins. The higher the bet, the higher the chances of hitting that bonus. Bets range from 0.10 to 25 credits per spin. The famous Mega Moolah Jackpot Wheel has four progressive jackpots, the biggest of which now seeds at €2 million. Every spin of the wheel guarantees a win, but there’s only one white sector that corresponds to the Mega Jackpot. Book of Mega Moolah has an RTP of 86.71% and a jackpot contribution of 5.30%.
So what are your chances of winning one? Over the past 2 years, the Mega Moolah progressive jackpot has awarded over €178 million as follows:
- 48 Mega Jackpots – worth €64,118,093.29
- 842 Major Jackpots – worth €17,205,709.31
- 852,028 Minor Jackpots – worth €70,358,362.75
- 2,925,606 Mini Jackpots – worth €25,720,864.76.
The average Mega Jackpot in 2022 was just over €6.5 million. The largest win over that period was €12,793,329, which was triggered in May 2022. The average jackpot hit frequency is around 40 days, so as it currently stands, there’s a high chance someone will win the main prize again within a few weeks.
