Over a month has passed since the Evolution group’s big announcements for the year. For a nice surprise, they’ve kept this March release a small secret. Peek Baccarat is the only version of the card game where players are allowed to change their initial bet as up to all four cards get revealed during each session. Peek Baccarat is an extreme version of the already beloved Baccarat, and it went live yesterday, on March 23. Choose from our curated list of Evolution casinos to try it out for yourself or see the quick summary below.
Peek Baccarat plays by the same rules as standard commission Baccarat, with eight 52-card decks. The objective is to predict whose hand will win by having the value closest to 9, where Aces are worth 1 point each, cards from 2-9 are worth their numerical face values and 10s and face cards are worth 0. The Player stands on a 6 and 7, whereas the Banker stands if the initial two-card hand is a 6.
The main difference, apart from the beautiful golden studio and the dealer’s matching dress, is the introduction of a unique concept that offers players the exciting opportunity to “peek” at one to four cards mid-game. Unlike the studio’s Squeeze versions, players can then increase the initial bet if the revealed cards are beneficial for their hand. How the dealer chooses to reveal the cards is not specified and is probably Evolution’s tightly kept secret. Because of this special privilege, however, Peek Baccarat takes a mandatory 20% Peek Fee when betting on the Player or Banker. It’s not applied to the Tie or Pair bets; and the Peek Fee is not returned when the outcome is a Tie.
Once the dealer has revealed one, two, three or four cards for the player to peek at, the player has the option to double or triple their initial bet or continue as usual. This is a great opportunity to change a decision after normal betting time is over but implies that you know the rules of the game and follow the best strategy to take advantage of the unique opportunity. In the very long term, you should see results similar to the RTP of the game which is 98.80%. Playing side bets decreases it to 89.64%.
Here is a breakdown of the win ratios and fees:
- Player pays 1:1
- Banker pays 0.95:1 (5% commission applies to initial bet and Peek bet).
- Tie pays 8:1
- Pair side bet pays 11:1 (pays if the first two cards dealt to the Player/Banker constitute a pair).
Evolution Peek Baccarat is available from March 23 and can be played with bets ranging from $1-2,500 or mBTC 0.05-500, but can potentially go higher depending on the casino. The game should also be available in the First-Person version sooner or later.
