Last year, the EGR Operator Awards event celebrated its 12th anniversary, and now it’s time for the lucky number 13 and this year’s shortlist highlights. Held at the luxurious Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane on 26th October of this year, there are 30 category awards up for grabs for the big and rising casino, bingo, poker, eSports, fantasy sports, lottery and sports betting brands, including the coveted operator of the year award, which went to Unibet (now Kindred) in 2016.
There are four main categories at the ceremony: Headline Categories, Operator Categories, Affiliate Categories, and Game of the Year. For now, we’ll cover the first and last one; so let’s dive into the headline categories section, where 10 major casino brands compete for the Casino Operator of the year: 888casino, Casumo, GVC Holdings, Kindred, LeoVegas, Mr Green, PokerStars Casino, Sky Betting & Gaming, Virgin Games, and William Hill.
LeoVegas, Mr Green, as well as Sky Betting & Gaming have also made it to the Mobile Operator and Operator of the Year nominations. That in mind, bet365, Ladbrokes Coral, Lottoland, Pinnacle, and The Stars Group (formerly Amaya) are also going for the ultimate iGaming Oscar – this year’s number one operator.
Although that list of brands doesn’t come much as a surprise due to the operator’s popularity and deep pockets, the Rising Star award certainly includes a name or two which you might have discovered just lately. This includes 10 sites: bet.pt, Bookee, Codeta.com (also for Affiliate Program), Dunder, Genesis Global Limited, Ninja Casino (also for In-house Product), PlayOJO (also for Socially Responsible Operator), Red Queen Casino (also for Mobile Casino Product), Stride Gaming (also for Bingo Operator), and Wunderino. Be sure to check out the full reviews – with exclusive bonuses – on our site before you give them a go.
In the Operator Categories, we also have brands competing for the best customer service, including Bethard Group, Betsson Group, Casumo, Karamba, LeoVegas, Mr Green, Rank Group, Sky Betting & Gaming, and tombola. Any other casino you’d add to this list?
Slowly wrapping it up, when thinking where to play while on mobile, then consider these 9 sites that are nominated for the best mobile casino: bgo, Casumo, Gaming Realms, Hero Gaming, LeoVegas, Mr Green, Red Queen Casino, Spillehallen.dk, and SuperLenny.
Last but not least, if you’re a slots fan, then according to this year’s results you’ll be better of playing at these 10 online casinos (and bingos) that are competing for the Slots Operator prize: Bitcasino, GalaBingo.com, Kindred, Paddy Power Betfair, Quasar Gaming, Sky Betting & Gaming, SlotsMillion, Videoslots.com, William Hill, and Wink Slots. Speaking of slots, stay tuned for this year's Game of the Year shortlist highlights and don't forget to vote!
That said, we’ll be hearing more from the casinos and operators soon, a gossip which you can also follow on Twitter #EGRAwards. Are you willing to share your favourite nominees? Leave your comments below.
