The EGR Operator Awards, which has been running for 12 years straight, is back in action this November, on Monday 28th. What’s known as the iGaming Oscars, there are mainly two exciting categories that players should be looking forward to. One is the operator-related awards, whereas the other one’s all about games. And you are the judge to decide which game deserves to win. The voting ends on 4th November.
With that in mind, let’s see which video slots are represented this year in more detail. To start with, there are 13 candidates for the Game of the Year 2016 award, from both larger and smaller game developers. One of the favourites this year is the almighty Guns N’ Roses slot from NetEnt, which is the company’s most successful slot to date. In fact, it was played 1.5x more than the iconic Starburst, in the first 30 days from the launch. Considering how good players’ feedback has been over the year, NetEnt might as well win the award like it did last year with its Spinata Grande slot.
While there’s nothing from Microgaming on the list, Playtech has chosen not one but two games for the award: Ace Ventura and Space Invaders. While the former has Jim Carrey taking part in all sorts of bonus features, the latter is based on the 1978-launched arcade classic, and is also ironically one of the company’s latest releases.
Play’n GO is also having another go at the award with their new slot Grim Muerto. Quickspin and their Wild Chase slot has shown positive player feedback since the launch as well, giving them fairly competitive chances at the award too.
Among the smaller candidates, there’s the ELK Studios powered Poltava slot, which is based on the Battle of Poltava that was held in the 18th century. For a company with less than 10 games in the portfolio, this is a remarkable achievement.
This year there are two nominees that stand out from the rest. Felt is competing with their Blackjack 6 in 1 creation, which combines six of the world’s greatest side bet hits into one game of blackjack, including Perfect Pairs, 21+3 and Buster Blackjack. The world’s leading live casino supplies, Evolution Gaming, is excited to have their latest creation, Live Baccarat Squeeze on the shortlist as well.
Other nominees include Realistic Games with their Fireworks slot, Pragmatic Play and their Hot Safari, Yggdrasil Gaming’s Monkey King, Lightning Box Games and Stellar Jackpots with Chilli Gold x2, and Magnet Gaming and their The Viking: Wheels of Valhalla.
That said, leave a comment below with your favourite and make sure to place your vote following this link before 4th November.
As for me Yggdrasil gaming are amazing, but it's very strange that there is no info about Join games and softswiss. Has anyone see their games, they are amazing. I tottally like tha game about zombies from Join games. You can kill zombies in bonus section. And softswiss for their bitcoin games, of course - it's big trend last time.
