Here’s a fun fact: MegaWays mechanics will now also be available in Blueprint’s slots. The news came through on 1st May, when Big Time Gaming, the studio which made this feature famous with the release of Dragon Born back in 2015, and the German Gauselmann Group-owned Blueprint Gaming signed the first-of-its-kind licensing agreement. And the first game in the collaboration is coming out already this month.
The patented and trademarked MegaWays™ mechanic has turned Big Time Gaming (BTG) into a superstar of its kind. A proof for that is their recent MegaWays game launch (Extra Chilli) exclusively on LeoVegas, making it their most successful launch to date compared to previous KPI’s from any provider.
So, what is MegaWays anyway? As they put it: “It’s a random reel modifier system that allows any given spin to produce a different number of symbols across the reels, allowing players to experience a totally different game with every spin.” It should be noted that BTG slots are played at high volatility, but also with an equally attractive winning potential.
That said, Blueprint Gaming, German gambling giant’s UK division, has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and has already announced their very first video slot to be using this innovative mechanic. It’s called Diamond Mine and it’ll be launched as soon as May. It’ll then be followed by Irish Riches Progressive and many more releases, because judging by Matt Cole, Blueprint’s Managing Director, they are going all in on this deal.

Let’s hear from Nik Robinson, Big Time Gaming CEO: “This is a ground-breaking partnership that stands testament to the highly innovative and unique mechanics we have developed here at Big Time Gaming. It will be interesting to see how Blueprint utilise this license and we already have a great deal of interest from other leading suppliers in the field wanting to upgrade their offering with MegaWays™.”
“MegaWays™ is a very successful mechanic and we believe it will eventually dwarf the standard 5x3 format of recent years. We are delighted to be able to share it with the Gauselmann Group initially through Blueprint Gaming and we believe this partnership will lay the foundation for similar deals in the future.”
Matt Cole, Managing Director at Blueprint Gaming, added: “Big Time Gaming has enjoyed phenomenal success with its latest releases such as White Rabbit and Extra Chilli. A huge part of this is down to the out and out innovations Big Time Gaming has developed in recent years. We are thrilled to have gained access to MegaWays™ and can’t wait to begin incorporating it in the next wave of games we release.”
