Casinos supporting Greek language
Of the many languages that have influenced Western culture specifically, none has had a bigger impact than Greek. It has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language with records that go back as far as 34 centuries. Moreover, the Modern Greek written language is the same today as for most of its existence, experiencing very few changes over the course of over three millennia.
For many years, knowledge of Greek was an important marker of a classical education because so much of what is often called Western civilization is owed to the Greeks and their various advancements. Many of the tropes and concepts in art, poetry, theatre, and philosophy that are still in use today were first spoken in Greek, and a lot of the culture that is shared among much of Europe and North America can trace its roots directly to Greek writing.
Through most of antiquity, Greek was considered to be a lingua franca and absolutely vital to trade and international communication. It was at one point the official language of the Byzantine Empire, from where it eventually evolved into Medieval and then Modern Greek.
New words in many other languages to this day draw their roots from Greek as well.
