Casinos supporting Indian Rupees Currency
The currency known as the Rupee is the official money utilized across the Republic of India. The origin of the term "rupee" stems from the Sanskrit word for money and is one of the oldest forms of currency in the world. Records show the first use of rupee-based coins used for purchase of goods and materials came from as early as the 6th century.
Rupee coins made of silver were established during the mid-16th century in India and continued that way until banknotes were released during the rule of Britain starting in the 18th century. The Indian Rupee was removed as the monetary standard of the country during British rule as other monies from British-run countries were used. Gold sovereigns were scheduled to replace rupees in large cities like Bombay and Calcutta during the 19th century but were never utilized.
As of this writing, one Indian Rupee is worth only 16 cents per U.S. Dollar. The exchange rate has declined over the last several years.
